Foot Care

A Chiropodist is a Foot and Ankle Specialist, and is a regulated Primary Health Care Practitioner. Our Chiropodists are qualified and regulated under the College of Chiropodists of Ontario. A Registered Chiropodist is authorized to prescribe certain oral/topical medications, cut into the subcutaneous tissues of the foot, and administer by injection into the foot any substances designated in the regulations. Podiatrists have the same authorized functions as chiropodists listed above, but some of them are also authorized to cut into the bones of the forefoot.
